TUI update on campaign for pay restoration and pay parity

TUI notes the Labour Court recommendation that has been offered to the garda representative bodies as a basis for settlement.

TUI will consider the implications of the recommendations both internally and along with other public service unions at the Public Services Committee of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU).

The ICTU has previously called for acceleration of the pay restoration terms of the LRA to all public servants and TUI is fully supportive of this call.

TUI also notes that the Public Service Pay Commission is now operational and the union will seek to have the Commission report as early as possible in the new year. It is TUI’s unambiguous position that the Commission will address the inequity of the differential pay rates that apply to those who entered the public service on or after 1st January 2011.

With regard to our ongoing campaign for pay parity for new and recent entrants to the profession, TUI has already lodged a claim with the Teachers’ Conciliation Council for restoration of the H Dip allowance to those new and recent entrants to the profession who are not in receipt of the allowance.
